Wow, what a term. The children have all worked really hard on their technique and learning their routines for the concert. I was very proud of each and every one of them. They are shined on that stage! Thank you to all the teachers for all their efforts and you the parents for your continuing support.
The Art students have also been busy creating and making. All the children have a diary. This diary allows them to practice different artistic techniques using various mediums such as Indian ink, pencils, pens, watercolour, acrylic and oil based paints. They also practice portraits, and drawing their favourite things, each week the children have a new major project then finish things off or add new works in their process diaries. Major projects can range from collaboration collage works to individual paintings, craft and terrarium’s.
The paintings that were in the foyer of the theatre were done in the lasted class where the children were exploring primary colours (red, blue and yellow) and how they can create new colours by blending and using white paint. They used sponges, fingers and paint brushes to apply different layers.
